Laxmi’s works move away from the pursuit of fixed forms and meticulous detailing, valuing instead the movement and impermanence that reside in the essence of every being. The stains and transparencies that emerge in the artist’s watercolors are not accidents, but territories where subjectivity and emotion take center stage. Each portrait is an inner landscape, a reflection of the vital energy that pulses beneath appearances and relationships. Water, with its unstable and transformative nature, becomes a central element not only in the materiality of the work but also as a metaphor for the human condition itself: fluid, vulnerable, multiple. Exploring the invisibilities of bodies, the work reveals what cannot be directly seen: sensations, memories, and energies that shape our existence but rarely find space in modern life. Though invisible, these subjective layers are just as real as physical matter. Moreover, the work affirms the idea that all bodies exist and matter, regardless of their visibility or acceptance within normative societal standards, and especially in relation to the individual’s perception of themselves.
The artist holds a Bachelor’s degree in Performing Arts from the Instituto Cal de Arte e Cultura. She participated in the performance piece “Haverá o tempo que tudo será como Sonhamos” presented at Teatro Serrador and has showcased her solo performance “Respeita o Tempo” at various venues in Rio. A self-taught watercolorist, she has been selling and exhibiting her works on her social media since 2020. In 2023, she studied at the Escola de Artes Visuais do Parque Lage in the “Anti formas” course. In April 2024, she participated in the exhibition “Samba pra Motta" da Capibaribe 27” in Rio de Janeiro. Additionally, she is the creator of the only art-tourism activity in the city of Rio de Janeiro, titled “Paint Sugarloaf Mountain While Admiring the View,” a watercolor class held at Aterro do Flamengo with a view of Sugarloaf Mountain.
As obras de Laxmi se afastam da busca por formas fixas e detalhamentos minuciosos, valorizando, em vez disso, o movimento e a impermanência que habitam a essência de cada ser. As manchas e transparências que emergem nas aquarelas da artista não são acidentes, mas territórios onde a subjetividade e a emoção se manifestam como protagonistas. Cada retrato é uma paisagem interna, um reflexo da energia vital que pulsa por trás das aparências e relações. A água, com sua natureza instável e transformadora, se torna um elemento central não apenas na materialidade da obra, mas como metáfora da própria condição humana: fluida, vulnerável, múltipla. Explorando, também, as invisibilidades dos corpos, é o que não pode ser visto diretamente: sensações, memórias e energias que moldam nossa existência, mas que raramente encontram espaço na vida moderna. Apesar de invisíveis, essas camadas subjetivas são tão reais, quanto a matéria física. Além disso, afirma a ideia de que todos os corpos existem e importam, independentemente de sua visibilidade ou aceitação nos padrões normativos da sociedade e, principalmente, em relação ao indivíduo consigo mesmo.
A artista é Bacharel em Artes Cênicas, pelo Instituto Cal de Arte e Cultura, participou da Peça Performance “Haverá o tempo que tudo será como Sonhamos” apresentada no Teatro Serrador. Apresentou Performance Autoral “Respeita o Tempo” em diversos locais do Rio. Auto-didata em aquarela, vende e expõe suas obras em suas redes sociais desde 2020. Em 2023 Estudou na Escola de Artes Visuais do Parque Lage, no curso Anti formas. Em abril de 2024 participou da exposição Samba pra Motta”da Capiberibe 27, no Rio de Janeiro. Além disso, é criadora da única atividade artístico-turística da cidade do Rio de Janeiro, intitulada "Pinte o Pão de Açúcar Enquanto admira a vista” um aula de aquarela, no Aterro do Flamengo, com vista para o Pão de Açúcar.
