The bodies are formed through washes of color and blend into one another and into the red background, dissolving individual boundaries. There are no rigid contours: affection is what draws the form. Red fills the entire space as an intense emotional field, enveloping the figures and transforming the background into an extension of the gesture. The image does not depict an event, but a state.
